Really nice to see him get his debut at such a young age, and also take the chance to do something on the pitch. Great motivator for him + other La Masia players, we should see this more often, for sure.

Truly an awesome debut from this kid. He was born in 2002 ffs

He was so close to scoring, close to getting an assist to Griez, probably should've won a penalty. The defender hit his leg first and then the ball, and the tackle continued into the box it seemed. He also created 3+ good offensive moves on his own, and played several 1-2's. A 16 year old kid, operating as the brains behind our offensive plays in the final 3rd.

And he did all this in less than 15 mins.

Just look at how he attacks fullbacks on the dribble from the wing effectively, then plays a 1-2 and runs inside, turning his back to goal like a #9 to receive another pass and keep the move going. Once he started getting to the ball he never stopped, 15 touches in 15 minutes of play which shows incredible confidence. He would probably be heavily involved over 90 minutes too.

He pressed and won 1 tackle, he was incredibly good at moving off the ball. There aren't many players who can check in deep to receive passes and then dribble, but also play 1-2's and drift between fullbacks/CB's like a striker. He was everywhere. Also clearly showed that he has really impressive speed and he's not a small/weak player at all. 178cm at his age means he could still end up being a really big guy, but I'd prefer if he only grows a few more centimeters cause he looks so good as both a winger and a forward.

Exciting times ahead and I hope he continues to get minutes and training with the first team, especially with 2 big injuries still in Suarez/Dembele. He can then move to the B team and get substantial playing time to show off in a bigger role.

It's hard to say that someone's 100% legit in their first appearance as a 16 year old but fucking hell, Ansu got as close as anyone bar Messi to making that kind of statement.

He done really well, and that was not even playing on his favoured left side where he can cut in.

I don't want to hype him yet as Barcelona is a club with huge pressure. Even if it is true that in another league (Ligue1, Eredivisie) that he could be a starter by the end of the season at the right club.

But if he continues his development the stars may align to get a first team spot in the near future. We don't really have an AML at the moment so the position is open long term (even if Neymar comes with the pair having an 11+ year age difference).

Great debut and it seems Valverde see's something in him that he didn't in a lot of other players. Hopefully he continues to nail down a starting position in Barcelona B while getting a few first team cameos when games are dusted like tonight.

He second youngest player debut for official match right? No 1 who? Bojan?

Guinea-Bissau born Ansu Fati (16 years and 297 days) became the second-youngest player to debut for FC Barcelona in La Liga history. Vicente Martínez Alama is the youngest after debuting aged 16 years and 280 days in 1941.
