I thought WCQ, Euro Qualifiers and official WC and EC matches count as official matches? If a match is an International Friendly, there is nothing to it and those don't count. Is that correct?of course they do for national sides.
I think it is, friendlies don't count for the season record of a player. But the nt's keep the goal scoring record for friendlies.I thought WCQ, Euro Qualifiers and official WC and EC matches count as official matches? They count. Goals and caps are added to players statistics officially. For example it is well known that Pele scored 77 goals in 92 games for Brazil. However 34 were in friendlies and 17 were in tournaments that could be considered friendlies. Only 17 of Maradonas 34 goals were in 'non-friendlies' but he is credited with 34 officially. The record for most goals in a single season is set by Pele at 75 for club and country. Messi is currently on 68 as his 3 against Switzerland count towards his tally this season.I think it is, friendlies don't count for the season record of a player. Every season with only frendlies for the nt and Messi only got counted the ones he scored for Barça. Friendlies are counted only for the statistics, but when for the official goals scored in the season I've never seen them count. They count. Goals and caps are added to players statistics officially. just can't stop loving these two
Not only would an away goal from Messi be majestic for the team's momentum in the tie, but it would be record breaking as well. Something he is good at doing.Another goal at Stamford Bridge would see the Argentinian set a new benchmark for goals in a single Champions League campaign, taking him past the record he currently shares with Jose Altafini, who scored 14 for AC Milan in 1962/63. - Source: www.fifa.com
Nice post Ryan, haven't seen them before.
