I think I was a bit too hard on him after the Clasico. It's clear that Messi can be absolutely phenomenal, but there wasn't anything bad with his performance. His passing was accurate, his dribbles were quick and succesful, and he converted an important penalty. He did miss some shots but then again, who doesn't once in a while?

Messi when he's having a "bad" game is still a damn good player, just not what we're used to.

Yeah. Except for the missed shots, pretty much a solid Barça connective player yesterday. A few good dribbles, a few poor ones- which is true of most games. He has license to run at the D, even though he's going to lose the ball some of the time.
