he was very sharp in every area but in front of goal. we used him as a pivot true9 for most of the game which was nice.

but what was really good, though, was that neither messi or villa was great in front of goal and we still won.

getting goals from elsewhere = good times.

He was straying offside too often, altho it was overshadowed by villa ofcourse. Otherwise good game, just bad luck this time around.

If we'd taken Messi off and played with ten men, it might not have made a difference. He was shockingly awful. Caught in possession often, poor movement, frequently offsides, and abysmal finishing.

While everything you say is true I think it's very telling that Messi and Villa has a similar game and only one was blasted all game for it.

I haven't seen Leo look 100% yet since the ankle injury...Today, like he did at times in his last match - lacked that burst...Gave away possession more today than I recall seeing him do in some time
