Love is All
I was actually behind the goal he was running at for that one...I've seen many great moments sitting in the Camp Nou in my time but there was an electricity during that run that sent shivers down peoples spines, everyone was on their feet, and then the collective groan of 90 thousand people as it inched just wide...You miss it in the video but as Messi was running past defenders the keeper actually gave the sign of the cross and kissed both his gloves. He was asking for divine intervention right then...especially after the first half we'd had Messi charging down at him was the last thing he wanted.

Thank you so much for sharing that Warik. Especially drawing the cross part...I feel very humble. How wonderful it feels when we can connect with the divine like that.

Messi's goal against Getafe.... would love to see Ronaldo try and do that Ronaldo couldn't score a goal that good if his life depended on it.

immaculately conceived
LEEEEEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOO MEEEESSSSIIIIIIIII. :messi::messi::messi::messi::messi:
Led his team to the double and Champions League final, top scorer in the copa.

could be: top scorer in the champions league, champions league winner, overall top scorer in europe

Ballon d'or WITH EASE!

Ronaldo was average for the entirety of the CL, it was his performances in the league that won him it

come on you people are too biased in this forum.

he finished top scorer in the CL and was NOT average in the CL final, he did everything perfectly, his dribbling was better than usual too. He even scored in the match. All he did wrong was missed the penalty in the shoot-out that did not cost his team anything. It wasn't even a bad penalty because if the keeper went the other way the ball would have gone in. It all depended on luck.

I ain't going to reply to your reply since I do not want to turn this into another ronaldo argument thread.

Seriously, go away. It's like you're living on any comments made about Ronaldo.

maybe if he played against getafe he might.
who knows?
as meta has said, they're both completely different and as such, messi would never run 40 yards, leap like a salmon and score with a rocket header that alan shearer or frank stapleton would've been proud of,all the while risking his pretty face  AND virtually assuring safe passage into the semi final of the european cup.
they're both very very good for their respective teams and fit well in the set ups they're in. :)
this season messi IS the best player in the world, and will rightly get all the baubles to show for it this year. :worthy:

Ronaldo was average in the final but he still won the Balon D'Or.
harsh

outlandish,as well as wrong

Last time I checked this was the Lionel Messi thread?

i'm not assuming that's aimed at me specifically, and i probably won't be in this thread too often, but his (ronaldo) name had been brought up a few times on the last page.
i was only trying to inject a teenytiny touch of realism with some of my answers.

and i did try to stay on topic by mentioning the tiny magician too.

as we say around these parts, "safe". :beer2:

and don't let you know who grind your gears.
life's too short, and if we all thought and felt the same it'd be a dull ass life....no?

enjoy that you're lucky enough to have ANOTHER of the (destined to be) all time greats wearing your shirt and that your team is having "good times" atm.
