Where did I imply I knew anything of the case? I'm looking from an outsiders perspective and Messi being involved is much more likely than corruption. Atleast for me who is not blinded by fanboyism.

Where did he imply he knew anything about the case either?

Is not about fanboyism to suggest ulterior motives in this instance when there are breadcrumbs everywhere. You say Messi is much more likely to be involved than corruption, but history is not on your side on this.

You said it happened at age 17 and never afterwards, how would you know that? If he employed those advisors he's accountable. Unless he was completely unaware, which doesn't seem to be the case otherwise it wouldn't have been reopened.

That's speculation, at best. Nobody knows on what grounds the said judge decided to go ahead and prosecute Messi himself. The truth of the matter is, he was 17/18 when those alleged shell companies were set up. Do you think Messi himself was sophisticated enough to understand the intricacies of tax evasions and gave his consent? From what we know, he basically had his father take care of all the financial matters. Yeah he signed the papers, but at worst he can be accused of negligence. I don't know how the judge, you or anyone can prove the malicious intent of a 17/18 old Messi to evade taxes.

And btw, setting up offshore companies as a means for tax avoidance is not an illegal endeavor. If done correctly that is a perfectly legitimate and shrewd way to escape asphyxiating tax rates such as those in Spain. Economic and taxation laws, just like all law, is very much open to interpretation and perspective. The presence of these offshore representative companies does not automatically assume wrongdoing.

Why do you act like you know all the details about what happened? If what you say is the truth why would the judge hold Messi accountable.

Ofcourse if it makes you sleep better at night just keep thinking the judge is a madrista and Messi is the most innocent person in the world.

No ones going to lose sleep over Messi not paying taxes. No one gives a s****.

Either way I'm not going to continue posting about this.

What I know, what you know(or not) and the entire world knows is that the Spanish state prosecutor decided to drop the case against him since they agreed with the defence that Lionel Andres Messi was completely unaware of any wrongdoings of his financial advisors, quoting them: "The player was unaware and on the margin of the financial and business structure that his financial advisers had created to manage his income and obligatory fiscal payments." And that he settled with the Spanish Tax Authorities, but despite all that, the judge decided to overrule the prosecution and continue the case against him. On what grounds? Everything suggests that he had nothing to do with it so unless the judge knows anything about some dirty play behind the scenes, it sounds very unreasonable to overrule them unless he got something in that case.

Yep. The judge overruling the prosecutor's decision is really strange, to not say fishy.

I worry about this because this is not what Messi needs coming into a fresh new season. It was nothing but negativity last season it did get to him, clearly.

Not liking this one bit.

It's Spain, everything is fishy. The entire country is corrupt.

That's exactly right. The possession of money and power in Spain is not like that in Sweden. Many things can be done in Spain to harm one's image or to protect it!!!
Madrid and Barca for entirely different reasons are working against Messi.
