He had much more workrate off the ball when he played RW against Leon and did a great job defensivly.
In the games hes played CM, he has walked quite alot more without the ball.
Maybe should try him on RW again

No Pep explained before that it's easier to defend Messi on the wing. Defenders push him to the sideline... in the middle he has 360 degree's to work with and he's more effective.

Today he had a free role where he switched between the middle and the right wing.

He's playing seriously good at the moment.

Wait until he plays a bad match (by his standards) and every one will start complaining. He has set the bar too high. Messi never declined imo. He just lacked some stamina and energy and maybe motivation (debatable). But he is not 19 anymore and he offers much more than that 19y old kid.

He looked totally burned out during at the end of the season and during WC. He's playing much better now, but he still plays too much. I hope I'll see him substituted more often (of course todays match wasn't the best opportunities for that!)

Really can't see anything here. Amazing performance and I just hope his injury isn't anything serious.

It's been understated but he really gave a captain-worthy performance tonight. Led from the front and carried the entire attack, was our most active and mobile player, and tried to create things with very little space. The Leo that would get totally bunkered in by parked buses didn't show at all today. Even got heated up and more aggressive with the poor ref decisions and his 3 tackles. He was our solution to breaking it down and grabbing those three points. Ability along with effort/passion in this performance, which is great to see.

Hmm, few days ago there were rumors about him not joining Argentina or something like that and he won't join them for this firendly. Interesting
