2) The soccer is changed, the soccer evolves. Things that were good in the past, does not mean that they are also good in the future.
Nowadays, the new generation of midfielders have to be very good in buildig up AND defending (old generatione: Iniesta, new generation: Verrati). Nowadays strikers who simply wait the ball are out, today the new generation of strikers have to run with the team and have the quality to defend also.

This one won't happen though since Messi most of the time will simply not defend and nor is it effective for him to use his energy to help defend. Neymar and Suarez on the other hand do help out sometimes, especially Neymar. I think the most important thing is not asking Messi to help defend (OK, if it was him who lost the ball and the ball was just right there several feet away yeah he should), the most important thing is when we have the ball he needs to make those off-the-ball movement to make himself available.

My two fens.

IMO If we play with MSN, we can not play with Iniesta anymore; we need 3 hardworker midfilelders.

Three hardworking midfielders (just see the example of half of the season) do not worth two balls of Iniesta, when it comes to unpredictability.
Denis is truly hardworking for instance but worth only a quarter of an Iniesta...
If you meant defending, it's still manageable in 4-3-3. In 3-4-3 it's very questionable with slow midfielders.

We can still play with Iniesta but we do need more defensively-sound midfielders in our midfield portfolio for sure. And Neymar and Suarez need to do their part.

Iniesta remains one of VERY few, if not the ONLY midfield who is creative.

There is really no way we will ever get Kante now, not unless we planning on kidnapping him.

Chelsea know just how good he is and there is no amount of money that can persuade them.

Unfortunately, the golden opportunity was missed in the summer when Kante was looking for a big club. I have no doubt that he would have chosen us over Chelsea if we showed any interest. We decided to go for Gomes instead.

Kante is essential.

Kanté's passing is terrible when he's under pressure and the first touch of his aren't really impressive. The attacking game of his isn't really special, to say the least. Kanté isn't really a good fit for us I think.

Beside, it's unlikely that Chelsea are going to let him go.

I'd rather see us going Leipzig's Naby Keita, who's clearly better overall player than Kanté.

That is a myth. Kante's passing and dribbling are decent enough, though Keita is of course clearly better than him in those aspects.

I've got a feeling it'll be Barca vs. Leicester in the Quarter final, Leo will need to be on form.

Believe it or not, it's very likely that Madrid ll get to play against Leicester, almost 99% that this ll happen unless Uncle Perez forgot to make the call! Heheh
