people remember the moments of magic more so than ballon d'ors. maradona never had one but he's synonymous with GOAT in the football world. don't count out messi just yet, he has several years left at the top level and if there's one thing i trust, its his ability to bounce back from setbacks.

Maradona couldnt have won one. It was european players only back then for that award.

Until 1995, France Football magazine didn't nominated players born outside of Europe.

Otherwise, Maradona would've won a lot of Ballon d'Ors.

i know, which was sort of my point. they awarded him an honorary one too as far as i recall, but with or without the award people knew who was the best in the world in those days.

To be fair, I think he got lucky with that dribble. Tried to go left but miscontrolled and went right instead.

It is obvious but what's brilliant is how quickly he reacts after a bad touch, his explosive feet and quick thinking/responsiveness, balance.

Hard to say...he never loses control, maybe touched the ball a little soft when he headed left, enough that he sensed his marker had a chance to recover, so he switched right again.

On the downside, watch and look at the passes he didn't make. It was (after the initial run towards the middle) an unnecessary non-productive dribble, ending up back on the touchline 2v3. Hard to blame him, sometimes he finds an opening, but he tends to get more solo when frustrated.

There was also good one where he sent home 2 opponents with his body feint, it was his first touch of the game i think

KerryBai saying let's wait and see lol, until the presentation ceremony at the bernbeau, i think he wants to wait till then ....

What are you laughing at?... why shouldnt we wait and see what happens??? What about the months of september october and november? Ronaldo isnt even scoring at a rate of a goal a game this year.

Madrid will win the league, we take the copa and if someone else wins the CL then Messi can win the ballon dor... is that really something to laugh at?

No need to obsess over Balon anyway. Naturally, we'd be glad if he wins it but in the end it's not the true measure of best footballer anyway.
