It was as if people forgot that he is still the best finisher in the World when he needs to.
And then, when he needs to, he plays like an Isco on steroids setting up dribbling and chances left and right (which Neyamr used to miss, a lot).

And he does this consistently since 2007 basically.

Yes but Dybala is like him (LOL) and Cristiano Ronaldo is more handsome.

False 9 Messi si the 91 goals Messi.

One major letdown: We become too dependant on him.

Yeah, but with Dembélés injury we already are. Messi probably knew, that we couldn't be as dependent on him as we were pre Neymar and Suarez, so he made all efforts to include them in the game and setting up chances when matches were decided, but with Suarez out and Deulofeu out-Deulofeu-ing himself, Messi was the finisher yesterday. Add to that the great chemistry between Paulinho and Messi and this is what happens. What a game!

Great game but nevertheless it was a very poor opponent, Ronaldo has scored five goals twice against similarly poor sides so its nothing really special. I don't think Barca can have this much success against world class teams like RM, PSG etc without Dembele. These kind of teams will find ways to nullify Messi and he will have no space at all. Its not good that Barca is a one man team now because it makes them much more easier too play against. Just mark Messi out of the game and job done. He is also 30 years old now, he won't be able to carry the team through the whole season.

The game after the INT break away to Atletico is probably where Barca will drop their first points of the season. Messi coming back from INT break is always sluggish and Atletico will find a way to nullify him.

Atletico don't scare me at all, as long as we don't concede to them on set pieces we should be able to take the win. Atletico are our bitch in La Liga, I'm more scared of dropping points to Sevilla or Valencia away than Atleti tbh.

Messi is in insane form right now. Of course we would be dependant on him.

I'm so impressed by what he has done so far. Sure we didn't meet any behemoth, but he does so good.

I'm also wondering if that is making him even better now that there's no Neymar to make any push as the new big star of Barcelona.

Where do these idiots come from? Di Stefano is shit compared to Guiseppe Meazza who scored tons of goals drunk and hungover.

Interestingly he only has 1 assist! It's like he just chooses to be an assisting or goal scoring machine based on the team he plays in.
