In terms of bench players. Who? Gundogan... Toure (been there done that)... Delph... GTFOH.

We'll just have to wait and see how far City get in the Champions League. My guess is quarters.

Instead of looking at scorelines and lineups I suggest actually watching City. They will give you opportunities. They are very pleasing on the eye I admit but quality opposition can beat them.

Toure lmao, they have so many players that their bench players like Jesus/Aguero, Bernardo Silva/David Silva would 100% be starting for us.

City? They're not Champions League material yet. This current City side will stutter in La Liga against more technical opposition the way I see it.

I'm really struggling to see what everybody is fawning over in terms of City... They've been tested by only 1 high calibre side in Napoli, maybe Chelsea too, and they didn't come out smelling of roses but because they play the Pep brand and really thump the minnows they're supposedly the next best thing to sliced bread. They're also a team that will give you chances to score.

They most definitely are right now. Wouldn't be surprised if they knocked us out tbh. Would be surprised if they knocked out real but won't be too surprised. PSG is massively overrated right now and they are gonna finish in the CL like most seasons and city could defeat them.

They absolutely destroyed Napoli before they got complacent and allowed them back in the game. So they need to work on that.

Dominated the Chelsea game apart from the opening 20-30 minutes too.

Obviously they will give you some chances to score which is why I said they are the only English team who stand a chance if they defend well. If you don't think they've been impressive or got a balanced team then you haven't watched them enough. No one said they're the best thing since sliced bread either, you're the one jumping to conclusions for some reason.

You guys ought to stop being so butthurt about him leaving this club years back.
So it’s not Napoli that started playing better... It’s City that got complacent... Ok then! Napoli, away from home, actually had the better of the game from about the 35 minute mark. And yeah, they dominated the Chelsea game after Morata got injured. Chelsea were at sea tactically without him.

Further I wasn’t referring to you specifically about City being the next best thing to sliced bread but rather what I’m seeing in general and that they’re supposedly the only team capable of stopping Madrid. I believe they’ll struggle against weaker teams than Madrid.

City have stunning players going forward and play a very high risk attractive game but they have nobody capable of controlling the tempo and as such it’s a bombastic affair. They can be horribly exposed, particularly in the Champions League, in the same way they were last year against Barça. Messi & Suárez, even before Bravo’s brainfade, opened them up like a can of peas on numerous occasions only for Suárez to fluff them. This season they’re playing with an even higher line and provide you chances from basically nothing.

I’m not mad at Pep at all. I still consider him to be the best coach around by a considerable margin. I’m just tired of this City nonsense.

I see only Man City capable of beating them, and that only if their defence holds up.

Mourinho will make his own grave with his defensive tactics playing into Madrid's hands.

And the less said about Conte's record in the CL the better.

Chelsea would probably beat them. They've got a good record against Spanish sides regardless of show shit they have been in the past. Hazard would ruin their defence on the counter too. Casemeiro certainly wouldn't last 90 mins.

I don't know how true it is but some pundit was saying the other day that in 9 league games City have conceded just 14 shots on target this season.

If so, it can be argued that their defence is watertight at the moment but I don't think that's true either. They press
so high and aggressively that teams are struggling to get out of their own half at the moment.

I don't think it's sustainable because it's very demanding but they will very tough to beat over 2 legs this season.

In the EPL that stat could easily be true. Watford, Crystal Palace, Stoke and Burnley hardly troubled them. Also, most teams sit deep against City now and play on the counter so stat must be taken in context. Liverpool were the only EPL side who actually took the game to them as far as I remember.

Maybe you should watch city yourself if you don’t even know who’s even on their bench

Yaya never plays and gundogan has been hurt all year pretty much

I focussed on midfield because in terms of defenders and forwards Barcelona are ok with a fit Dembele but your comment shows how much you know... Gündogan has been on on the bench since the Chelsea game and likely even before that for the Champions League game. Not sure.

Anyway, they’re very wing and forward rich in Sané, Sterling, Bernardo, Jesus, Augero and 2 of them usually find themselves on the bench.

Other than that there are no reserves that causally walk into even this Barcelona team. This City hype is very frustrating. Madrid and United have an exceptionally deep squads.

Just because Gündogan has been on the bench lately doesn’t mean he’s been fit. He’s not even a rotation player at this stage

What hype? City are the best team in the PL at the moment and one of a handful of teams who could challenge in the CL. Nobody is crowning them anything. United and Madrid are deep as well nobody is saying they aren’t but city have more depth in the key areas that can change games.

So Pep is including unfit players now? Anyway, he is not a player that can just walk into a Barcelona lineup. Neither is Delph, Danilllo, Touré, Mangala... you get the drift.

And I firmly believe that City at this stage are an early knockout stage team for the Champions League. That might change later but from what I’ve seen thus far it’s a no from me.

Seems you got it the other way around, right now they look like the best team in europe. Could that change? for sure. Teams like Bayern are starting to turn things around under new management and real are playing better now and come CL time they will be the team to beat I imagine from a CL point of view.

This right here is what I'm talking about... Also fallen for them hook, line and sinker I see.

To each their own.
