It's when suarez was back in the team. When denis and deulefou were there. Messi wouldn't have a distraction ahead of him. He was having his best run, playing as a false 9 again. and you can remember the last time he was in that role how many goals he scored in a calendar season.

Having suarez is like having his baby on the field that he has to carry. But Messi is Messi. He can do anything he wants so no bother. There are no limits.

He is playing in an unfamiliar role at the moment. But he’s still killing it.

You can see he enjoys playing with Paulinho. He was happy as a pig in shit when Paulinho scored.

Suárez needs to be benched. It’s like playing a man short with him on the field at the moment.

Just noticed that out of 14 matches this season Messi has won (only) 5 of our Man of the Match awards.

He has been hands down our best player no doubt but isn't the fact most of the matches someone else was our best performer a good sign?

If he wasn't man of the match he was the second best or scored crucial goal, like vs Athletic.

I've read the squawka article that hints that this 4-4-2 formation is being setup to liberate Messi... What the heck? It states that Messi is liberated because he has a solid defensive structure around him as well as a centre forward ahead of him.

I'd argue that it increases his burden because said centre forward is clueless at the moment and he has zero wingers and pace to work with in the final third. He is having drive all areas of attack when Iniesta is absent...

I can't stress this enough... Suarez is nothing but a hindrance at this stage.

He has won almost all man of the match awards on whoscored this season for the games he has played.

Seen some pics on twitter where he is seen touching his hamstring. Think he has discomfort...should be rested against Olympiacos.
