It's hilarious how this thread always becomes a mess, whenever CR has a great game. I hope for everyone's sake that Messi delivers tonight :ninja_hide:

FFS some of you guys here are just on a Ronaldo hype train after yesterday. That truly was a great performance and a great goal but some headlines today: "Goal of the century"?!?!? WTF?!?! Really?!?! Come on!!!!! It's a overhead kick not the first and not the last one! That goal can't even compare to the one of Ibrahimovic, not to mention some goals when Messi dribbled trough literally 4 or 5 players. Today's world is just all about 24/7 hype!

People really need to stop overreacting! We should only care about wining trophies and not if someone scored a hattrick. We should concentrate on wining tonight. I don't care if Messi plays in a GOAT mode or not, we only need to win this with 2 or more goals difference! Trophies are the only important thing and not some crazy headlines about an overhead kick!

What would Messi hattrick mean if we don't win CL? What would Ronaldo's goal mean if they lose in semifinals? Nothing! ONLY TROPHIES COUNT!

Omg .... I'm already sick of seeing that Ronaldo goal !!
They're calling it 'the goal ' yet it only stands out from his others because he has so many tap ins and penalties !!

His PR people must be on his case now to go hard on the World Player award in July !?

Last night he was interviewed and when asked about his 'goal' he apparently just disregarded it and said he wanted to talk about the team and the performance !!

What utter BS .... all his career it's been about him and now he suddenly cares about getting the 6th player award and going ahead of Messi ...

Yes trophies count, however, Ronaldo has heavily outperformed Messi in the CL for a while now and it doesn't look good for Messi when that happens. CL is the highest level in club football. Messi has to reply tonight. People judge by what have you done lately, not in the past. Ronaldo winning a 6th BD would be disastrous for Messi's image since Messi was 4 to 1 ahead at one point. This upcoming BD will define a lot.

You can't see beyond Ronaldo for Ballon D'or unless Barca can somehow pip Real to CL.

Argentina aren't going to do much.

Ronaldo is just going to keep winning Ballon D'or as long as he and Real dominate CL.

Messi is going to have to perform a Maradona 86' type WC. If he does that, he will win the BD comfortably.

haha that was funny but also all so true. And yeah, not hating on CR but I prefer Ibra's goal as well :dance:

It won’t define anything. Whoever wins it won’t change aything. And if RM or Barca don’t win CL none of them might get BD this year since it’s the WC year.
