If he somehow finds a way to bring that version in CL, I think we're favorites to win it.

If he plays like that in the CL, it is an absolute guarantee we'd win it.

Messi in this kind of form is a force of nature, like a hurricane or tsunami that no one can stop or control. When he plays like this it just leaves me in awe that out of the millions of years of human existence I got to be lucky enough to be alive when this guy is playing.

Transcends football.

True but he needs to find a way to pace himself so that he plays like this in the biggest games. We can beat Betis with the weaker version of Messi. Not sure we can beat the likes of Liverpool with that though.

Should learn this from Ronaldo if I may add.

He's just warming up for United. It's a nice throwback to the Pep era for him where he and Barca were the undisputed best in the world. :valverde2:

Awesome free-kick (reminded the one against Las Palmas from last season)

Nice cool finish for the 2nd.

Absurd lob for his 3rd.

Overall great playmaking to go along with the hat-trick.

We are very lucky to have this player.

In all honesty, if Messi decides to play until 2026-27, the Summer of his 40th birthday, I reckon he has a good chance of reaching 1000 goals - surely this would cement him as the greatest player ever.

He currently has 656 goals to his name, and the 2018-19 season isn't even over - there are still up to 24 games left. I believe that Messi will at the very minimum score 16 more goals this season, which would increase his tally to 672. Now, he would "only" need to score 328 goals to reach a 1000, but seeing as he would have 8 season to do so, I think it is doable.

31 - 2018-19 - 55 goals - 672

Expecting a 39 y.o. Messi to play, leave alone score 30 goals is a bit over the top. In my opinion  would be lovely though. All that for Barca.
