I think he's due to testify in the BVB bus bombing trial too, so made little sense to include him.

I think Valverde will have a plan with him. Like DonAK said several times, Dembele is definitely coachable even more so than someone like Neymar.

Not really a jab on Neymar as ever since his Brazil days he was always a guy who wants to run the show. with Dembele he's younger and easier to coach into a certain type of Role. Who knows in the larger picture by the time Messi will retire Dembele would likely be groomed to be a possible Messi like role in the future.

*Assuming everything goes correctly with Dembele in the future.

Same spaces as Messi. Might be a problem fitting him in. Moving Messi even more to the middle and Suarez further left limits our options.

He will be playing a different role for Barca, obviously not an AM like in Borrusia. I think he understands Messi is the center of attack and wouldnt clash with him. He has shown he worked well on the right side against Juventus and Espanyol and constantly making space for Messi, unlike Neymar who tries to take the center stage and clashes with Messi all the time.

Yes but it is literally only the 2 of them trying to dribble their way through the defence, which has been ineffective. *coughJuventusMalagacough*.

Neymar's tendency to drop deep like Messi and his impatience to rush attacks has caused Barca to lose their passing identity and every attack seem to stem only from MSN, usually Messi and Neymar. Neymar tend to drift center as well, which often results in Messi making way for him and thus Messi is often marked by defenders in the confined space.

Neymar's departure has ultimately made Barcelona function better as a team, which was what Pep built in the past.

and team probably had to step up their play as well, earlier they could just pass to Neymar or Messi and wait for things to happen. I wonder how it's going to look with Dembele. It's going to be very interesting. No doubt he will big upgrade to our offense.
