Neymar also played plenty games in succession and scored his first goal on his sixth appearance. By the time Neymar had scored his first La Liga goal he had played 387 minutes. That’s 100 more than Dembélé at 2/3 through the season. He also started every every Champions League group stage game.

I actually like Neymar but he was average in his first season.

Neymar scored a goal against Atletico in the Supercup.
That was his 2nd match, if I am not mistaken.

First match: Levante La Liga 7:0 18th August.
2nd match: Atletico, 1:1, Supercup 21st August.

Dont mind if he doesn’t score or assist. Needs to get his basics right first, not losing the ball so often and poor passes.

I can see why there's some concern about him. I don't think he has shown even the raw talent that someone who costs 150m should. Not at Barca he hasn't.

However, I've accepted that we need to write off this season. With everything that's gone on, I just don't expect him to turn it around this season. I want to see how he performs next season, before making judgements on him. We've paid a lot for him, and he is one of those skill/dribble players. We don't really have a choice but to give him till next season. I'm just not sure Valverde is the right man for someone like him though; he doesn't seem like the manager for young players to flourish under in general.
