Do we even need him? We looked like such a stronger side without Dembele on the field.

This is how I would line up if I was the Barca manager.

Suarez Messi
Coutinho
Arthur Vidal/Rakitic
Busquets
Alba Pique Umtiti Roberto

Pep could/can work with Coman, Costa, Sterling and Sané and they aren't la masia level when it comes to passing and also aren't defensiv workhorses but are fast wingers that tend to lose the ball from time to time so i don't see a reason why Dembele, arguably a bigger talent overall than all of these players, should be absolutely anti-pep and sold immediately.

Pep can play his game with players that aren't 100% "old barca style" by default, but i guess with Valverde its easy to forget a coach can influence his players.

I would bet half of our squad would look way better and more "barca style" if coached by Pep. He's just a way better coach when it comes to tactics, in-game coaching and establishing his own idea of football. Valverde might have other strengths (idk what exactly tho) but when it comes to that Pep is the best in the world imo.

And if we talk old Pep barca then i'd still say Pep would've found a way to make it work.

Dembele isn't like those players, that is over simplification of things, he is less tactically sound, more turn over prone than those players. All are still better in defending than Dembele, he is a bigger talent but he isn't better fit at all.
Pep failed to develop players like Bojan, wasn't able to work with ibra and the list goes on.
Sure he is a better coach, but he isn't a magician and when things doesn't go his own way he will ask for 200M in transfers like he did with City and won't stick with things that doesn't work.
You should never forget how ruthless Pep is, for a guy like Dembele this could backfire badly IMO, obviously this is all hypothetical

Well i think we just have a different opinion on Dembele then, not Pep. IMO Dembele can do pretty much everything better than these players and with the right coach that would show. But its just not a fair comparison when Sané learns from Pep and Dembele has to deal with EV. Swap them and we would probably have this discussion in the Sané thread now and people would constantly talk about how he doesn't fit the barca style.

Doesn't make much sense to discuss that because its just speculation but for me Valverde is the problem here and not Dembele.

Hated to see him left out yesterday, but not sure who I would have subbed him for. He would have had an absolute field day in the 2nd half when Tottenham were chasing the game.

Dembele would probably been put in the market by this time if he was coached by Pep, he is like the anti-pep when it comes to playing style as it stands.
Big adaptation is ahead of him.

Dude please , go watch Sane and please tell me according to your logic how Sane isn't an anti-pep player and why he surprisingly isn't on the market yet.

Him and Roberto. No surprise that our best performance since ages occured in absence of both. More than any team, Barça will always shine when the midfield is coherent
calm my friend. yesterday it was a replacement team of Tottenham. the reality we conceded 2 goals.

What are you saying ?
Dembélé told me the other day that he would be resting for the Tottenham match because there would be only half of the English team.

Didn't dembele tell you he would go to Arsenal aswell ?

lol .Dembélé leaves for Arsenal.

According to new reports, France international Ousmane Dembele is still struggling to adapt to life in Barcelona.

Despite making a positive start to the season, the 21-year-old apparently does not yet feel comfortable with his teammates at the Catalan giants, and only surrounds himself with his own friends.

Give Me Sport has claimed that Dembele is ill-disciplined when it comes to his diet, while the publication also sensationally stated that the winger parties excessively.

Spanish journalist Guillem Balague recently shared his thoughts on the player's difficulties in Catalonia.

"The France forward is struggling with the language, is shy and surrounded by his own people all the time," Balague wrote in a column for BBC Sport.
