Really happy that he saved us tonight :)

In fairness, that's what everyone said when Dembele scored the winning goal vs. Sevilla in Spanish SuperCup.

And yet, it hasn't prevented him from being scrutinized...

Pique LST.

To be f-ing honest, I do agree he is still abit of a kid, but I really feel for his situation here in Barca. I mean, he could put out a good performance but he gets immediately benched for long periods of time when he has an average game. I think this is the part where to manager terribly failed. The coach doesnt seem to care for the new players, just play them anywhere he deems fit and when things arent going well he takes them off immediately. I just dont see EV as the type of guy who puts their arms around players and try to motivate them and make the best out of their strengths. This coach simply just doesnt care, a simple man picking his best 11 week in week out, I mean my grandma could do that too. Could see Dembele is frustrated and kinda losing that mentality because of the negligence shown by the management. I mean, the new players are literally fighting to stay afloat (basic gametime), instead they should be fighting to succeed. Without consistent and well balanced gametime, obviously they can never succeed. I believe strongly it's the same for Semedo and Malcom, even Arthur at the start of the season.

EV created this segregation, huge gap between the new players and the old ones. I mean it really says alot when Malcom cried immediately after scoring that goal and players stood up for him. And this guy showed nothing but a face of disgust. Now Macom is back in the bench as usual. I mean can you blame the players for showing a lack of interest if the coach has zero patience for you? I think it goes both ways really. The fact that Dembele came here with an ambition to make his mark and deteriorates since the past seasons says alot. Looked like he regressed alot even since Dortmund days as well.

its gotta be said, even though the system is fucked up, Dembele is still producing and scoring crucial goals.. the sign of a top player. i hope we go for a manager who can actually man-manage players instead of just putting them in the stands

What went overlooked is how he completely ignored Suarez barking for the ball with his arms wide out, and instead had the confidence to decide the game for himself. Last season people were complaining that he was too unselfish in front of goal and would pass off goal-scoring opportunities to fed Suarez.

I like that he's now picking and choosing when to be subservient and when to takeover. It shows that "IQ" that a lot of you critics claim that he "lacks".

Valverde needs to learn to make substitutions earlier in the game.. he made the same mistake against Roma, I think if he brought in Dembele/Malcolm earlier on we could have won the game

Th IQ thing, when mentioned, is more about overall decision making throughout the game. When to pass, when to dribble, to whom pass, hold up the ball or move forward, etc. He sometimes exibits the same weakness that Delufeu and Adama had. Some of it can improve and no doubt that system better than that of Cowardverde's could help too. He's not lost cause like the former ones.

This thread is so fun:

Match 1, Dembele plays bad: Sell, the biggest flop in our history.
Match 2, Dembele scores a goal: He has proven all his doubters wrong. He is such a gem.
Match 3, Dembele plays bad: What a clown. Sell him, this transfer was such a mistake.
Match 4: Dembele plays good: Fuck you all, he is such a generational talent

Anyway, we all agree that he is a world class TALENT.
And that he can produce moments of magic in every match.
On the other hand, after 10 minutes of magic, he will offer 80 minutes of being lost on a field, playing bad simple passes, having bad decisions, not playing a defense etc.
Also, don't forget that he is too young, he is not a good fit for our playing style, he doesn't know Spanish, his personal life, being late all the time, not knowing how to stretch properly etc.

So, instead of going to:
1. he is either a generational talent, and I hope that Sport will shut up for good (Konan, lol)
2. or: he is the biggest flop in our history
= let's accept that he is somewhere in between that, or that he is BOTH of these, usually in every match

For a few minutes of every match=he will play like a generational talent.
And in other minutes, he will play like the worst signing ever.

A hint for the future:
1. he will score MORE goals this season and offer some magic here and there. That doesn't mean that he is suddenly a good fit for our club or that he has cured his attitude problems
2. also, he will have 10s of horrible matches very soon. He will have new scandals and problems with people quite soon. But that doesn't mean that he can't produce magic or a wonder goal here and there.

So, he is BOTH of that.
No need to post the same shit after every single match.
A change of opinion should be possible only:
1. if he will play awesome for a few Months, then his haters will need to change views on him
2. if he will play like a crap for Months and/or if he will cause new off field problems all the time, then his lovers will also slowly need to change an opinion about him

Nothing has changed about him after one match, lol.

PEACE, LOVE & HUGS to everyone
