This is the ideal situation for everyone. He's had a great ride here and will end with a bunch of trophies. He just had a career best season (possibly Ballon Dor season) and is approaching 30.

He might want to call it quits as well whilst everything is roses. Its a win win for everyone, amazing contribution here and leaves in the end for a big profit.

I also question given how much physical effort he's put in this season, will he be able to push that hard as he gets older? His effort and work this season has been remarkable from a physical perspective and that adds up for everyone.
