I think Masch was suspended for Sevilla.

You're right guys, I forgot Mascherano was suspended. But the Montoya vs Alves thing still counts. And he even played Song against Sevilla and saved Busquets for last night. That's a pretty clear indicator to me that Tata considered last night's game more important, which isn't that hard to imagine considering it was the semifinal. I guess some of us were wrongly excited about his choice of players for the Sevilla game.

Of course I agree, La Liga is more important in general, but there are plenty of LL rounds left, whereas there are no rounds left in the Copa.

There may be a lot of rounds left, but none of the top 3 can relax even a bit in the league. This is a slugfest of the tiniest of margins now. In the Cup, he could've relaxed more given the 2-0 lead. And people treasure the league way more. He needs to win the league.

And I agree completely, I never said anyone had enough leeway to relax. But that doesn't mean Tata didn't consider last night's game slightly more important. It's visible in the lineups.

He did have a very good game. If you want to blame someone for the goal, the right FB sure left a hole to cover. Most coaches would have ordered Alves to stay home on defense up 0-1 at the end of the game, but Barca seemed to be focusing on scoring another. The big problem was Barca could not stay motivated after it became impossible to not advance. Can't blame them, they play so much over such a long season that they can't help letting up at meaningless times.

I don't want to be happy that Masch could be injured but if it means Bartra plays then this could potentially be good news.

It's not a potentially good news.
It's not good at all, no matter who has picked a knock. It will make our squad thin, which is always bad.

It's good for Bartra to get his chance to shine, as long as Masche can recover as soon as possible. IMO his loss was just as bad as Messi's against Bayern last year.

Puyol had back pain and knee discomfort against Rayo. I don't think Tata will risk breaking El Capita again. Not to mention that Puyol-Pique against the pace City's got is just asking for trouble.
