I know we should have signed a CB at least last season. But, what will happen with Bartra if we sign 2 CB's? I really think he has done well and deserves to get minutes. If we only sign 1 WC CB, than we have Pique and new CB + Bartra as backup + Masch as fourth backup. Does the rest of the top teams really have more than 4 CB's?

Well Masch wouldent need to fight for CB space as he can play DM instead, cant be worse than Busquets this season...

Signing two CB's seems like a far fetched dream right now. I don't think we, and Bartra for that matter, have to worry :p

I don't understand why people are happy about that, it's just means that he will be siting on the bench, he hasn't played DM for like 4 yrs, he won't be able to compete with Busqets.

probably because it means we have a player with nearly 100 caps for his country as our backup DM. he clearly loves the club and seems willing to except this role even though he could easily be the starting DM for a lot of other teams.

plus we can sell Song.

No Song. Top-class DM to rotate or play along with Busquets. Backup CB if needed. What's not to like?

DM Mascherano > DM Song. If the rumor is true, he will get all the minutes Song's been getting and more.

Song had been a starter just 12 times in La Liga this season and that just because Tata liked to rotate players frequently...

I don't understand. You prefer to have a worse second choice DM and a good DM playing CB, than having a new CB, a better second choice DM available, and possibly have him play CB if necessary?

Mascherano can play more minutes than Song...He can be a back up of Busquets but Lucho can also use him as a DM with Sergio on the pitch if we need to defend...
