Wouldn't solve our midfield problem in any way. Taking a slow midfielder and replacing him with a slow midfielder who sucks at positioning and short passing will only make the situation worse. Leave him in defense.

Mascherano isn't slow at all, he's very mobile and very good at pressing. So what if 2 yards one touch sideways passing isn't hus forte, at least he doesn't lose the ball in suicidal positions and then throw himself to the floor hoping to win a free kick.

He doesn't have the ability to control a midfield the way Busi does and his positioning is very poor. There's a reason his appearances at DM grow more and more limited.

And it's actually a fact. He's not that kind of a defensive midfielder. That's one of the many woes with the Argentina Midfield.

Mascherano has played as a CDM for us several times when the team actually was doing well, but he has been disappointing because he's a different type of player.

You can't just say that Mascherano is as slow as Busquets and call it a fact, you can't just say that Mascherano's positioning is very poor and call it a fact, you can't just say that Mascherano sucks at short passes - OMG especially this one - and call it a fact, you can't just underestimate Mascherano's ability to control the midfield by comparing it to Busquets's while the last thing Busquets is capable of these days is controlling the midfield, he can't even control a pass these days lol !
