We may be better moving to a back 3 against top sides with Frenkie being able to drop and Christensen being able to move forward.

Not a DM in the long run for us unfortunately. Proved that playing with the ball is very different when facing opponent's goal compared to your own. Which is why rarely see a CB make the jump to DM no matter how good he looks on the ball at CB.

Nothing wrong with Xavi trying out different things. It was the first time in 8 years or so he played as DM so understandable he looked lost at start but think he got better as the game went on. Not a longterm solution but would like to see how he'd do with a run of games there.

Rafa Marquez played as our DM at times under Rijkaard but he was god with his passes.

Marquez was always a DM/CB and best passer of ball ever seen from CB.

Xavi has to try it out and try to find options at very least to try and give some rest to others.

Christensen had some moments he lacked awareness but that is to be expected really.

He is a CB through and through.. bot all defenders are markez or madcherano. Did exactly as expected of him. He defended well and protected defense to some degree. But in terms of playing the role of a proper DM He was bad. Every ball he sent it to stegen or to defenders , tried two progressive passes and both were missed. If anything this tells u how horrible Romeu is for Christensen to be picked ahead of him.

I've been saying that since fans were saying we should try Eric Garcia their.
CB plays with sort of 180 degree awareness, midfielders need 360° awareness. Also midfielders need to be more agile while defenders need certain type of quickness.

Was worth a shot, but clearly it isn't working.
