What did we learn from his recent performances?

I believe he is not suitable to play against Low block teams, I would play Torre in CAM than him ( Dont know why Flick subbed out Torre, should have been Fermin, Torre was playing well).
He is not press-resistant at all.

At this moment he should be a super sub, when the play is a bit open and he gets his space to show his game. He will be super effective.

If we are Real Madrid, then Fermin would have been cashed in in the summer for a sizeable fee. Or sold with buyback like Brahim.

Fermin is a perfectly fine player. Not great not bad. But he will be phased out for Guille most likely at some point. Even Torre.

Fermin is a perfect impact player. Sub him in after 60 minutes and see his magic.
He is just not suited to play against low block, where you don't have space. He's far more a false 9 than a 10.

And Flick should position him well and you see him performing well enough.

Unused sub in a 2-2 draw at Betis when Flick pulled half the starters to Rest for Dortmund.

All that youth, good attitude and slick hair and potential.
