Because he's been a journeyman his entire career where he's been very inconsistent. There's no point in signing him to a permanent deal either if Valverde would rather play Vermaelen in front of him right now.

Murillo is a right sided CB, so he would deputise for Pique not Lenglet.

That's not an issue. Most teams have two right footed centre backs.
Having two top centre backs where one is left footed and the other right footed is a luxury rather than a necessity.

Still doesn't address the concerns about him being a journeyman and simply not good enough to be the 3rd/4th CB. Could use that money(and more obv) to sign a right-footed CB that in a season would be Pique's successor.

Murillo was a good loan for 6 months, but I don't see the argument for signing him full-time. Not proven in his career so far he can be a reliable option for a team like Barca. Very erratic and inconsistent.

Board dosent decide, EV does. Todibo signing for our 1. team in stead of b-team doesnt mean squat in regard to who should / will play as a 4th choice.

Its pretty relevant with Pique and Lenglet who already played quiet a lot, vermaelens injuries and Umtiti as a wildcard. And Murillo is the obvious choice, i bet he will play as a starter against bilbao, and us winning the game is pretty improtant like all the games at this stage in the season.

Agree. Pique needs multiple league games off. I think he should have had last weekend off. Murillo is the safest sub for Pique. Like to see Murillo-Lenglet in more league matches, they might well be better than Pique-Vermaelen all things considered right now, and of course Lenglet is much younger than Pique and can recover faster.

The fear of having only CB-teenagers on the bench for a CL-semi when both Vermaelen (as always) and Umtiti (whose knee was and maybe is a black box/could've been out the full season for all that we knew at the time). We didn't lose a lot on this, imo.

We could use him in some liga games. Umtiti is way off, Lenglet is suspect too. Only Pique is a reliable cb at the moment.
