We probably won't have the cash next season or two to make any big changes to our midfield, if Frenkie leaves we'll probably bring in another midfielder but other than that not much will happen. We have more pressing needs like rb backup, lb starter, winger backup, goalie and of course Lewa replacement.

'Pure DMs' are vanishing a bit. Teams are playing with two DM/CMs that are more mobile and jack of all trades at moment really.

Teams are seeing one sitter as a bit redundant in and over kill more and more and want more players with freedom to move and be fluid. With the defence being positioned to cover them and step in when needed.

Can barely think of a top team that has a sitting DM that holds it.

I see no reason to sign a DM when we have Bernal, even if Frenkie leaves.

Think Casado, Bernal, Pedri, Gavi, Olmo and Fermin are good enough for 3 positions. Of course can always improve player for player and bolster in case of injury but that money is much better spent elsewhere for now.

Casado is certainly not good enough to start for us. Plays a good game in a match everyone looked good and suddenly he's great.

I would keep him for rotation, but objective should be to bring in a starter at DM.

De Jong staying or leaving doesn’t affect that, but there are other priorities this summer.
Well, depends on what we do regarding Lewa.

GK - probably we'll assess the situation for the reserve GK
CB - depends if anyone leaves, but don't expect to spend transfer money there
RB - need cover for Kounde
LB - need starter
CM/AM - we have enough players, some issues regarding quality/availability but we'll assess in 2026
DM - need a starter
LW/RW - need another quality player to rotate with existing ones
ST - need a starter

One good game? He has been consistently solid this season with standout performances in several big games (first Clasico and Bayern comes to mind).

Did we really sit through several seasons of Busquets, Iniesta, Rakitic not to learn that clever passes alone won't let you dominate possession. Movement is just as important, if not more so, and Casado offers better movement that any other player in the team.

His defensive cover and off-the-ball work are big reasons for why things are working for us right now. Take it out of the equation and I promise you there will be holes.

I was talking about the latest overreaction related to his performance vs Valencia. Go a page back and he is dismantled.

Not saying he didn't have a good breakthrough season, but is he that good to be a starter? I think not.

Maybe I'm wrong, we'll see in the future.

Agree with everything but the keeper, barca needs a world class one fast, that is set for the next years, all the other top clubs have better ones. Too bad barcas scouting and deco never challenge the difficult problems.

Sadly ter staren, whos game has been totally figured out by top coaches, will stay...

World class GKs cost lots of money, in transfer fees and salary. When did Barca spent money on that?

Stegen might not be legendary level, but he is not worse than most GKs at current top clubs.

And who might be world class that would warrant spending big bucks on?
