This morning, additional tests were performed on first-team player Marc Casadó, confirming a partial tear of the lateral collateral ligament in his right knee. He will undergo conservative treatment and is expected to be out for approximately two months.

He shouldn't have been injured that bad from that play. Either he didn't adjust properly or his overall health is far from optimal.

If you look at the stats - takles and interceptions per 90 minutes - he's better than Frankie.

1.5 VS 3.8.

He's also as good as Frankie in terms of progressive passing.

Terrible loss. We've lost our tactical flexibility. It's a shame.
Tactical flexibility in the pivot roles is limited without him.

Was typically on the fence on him earlier in the season(i do that for almost all new players until I gather enough sample to gauge their consistency) but got more impressed as time wore on.

Just finished rewatching in full both Classicos and I must say his contributions in those matches have been under-praised in almost every front.

The final through passes from deep helped declutter the first el classico and many others like that in the second one have been underrated here.

It would be great if he could miraculously be available in the last few matches of the season including the semis of the champions league.

Casado is nowhere near FDJ on the ball at anything including progressing it.

He made more tackles but also chased the ball out of position at times... absolutely evident in his very last game vs Ateltico for example. Was like chasing ball all over park and was trying to do everything at 100mph.

He also played 4th division football just 2 years ago. He's been pretty good for us considering everything.

Would be a catastrophe for a player of Frankie reputation if any 4th division converted DM walks in takes his spot

Yes he did.. but the argument is comparing them in first team.

Said countless times Casado has done well for where came from.. just not to level a lot of folk make out.

As always it goes from 'he is better' to when clearly not the case... 'well look where he was'... Same evert single time.. It is easiest way for folk to admit they called it wrong and a change of argument they were making.

It was clear he had never taken the spot and when all fit what Flick would use.

Can say that easily and still say he did well enough for where came from.

If Bernal is fit and FDJ stays Casado will find it very very difficult to get minutes.,

Yea the games he had against Madrid x2 and Bayern tells us how high is ceiling can be.

He was a top 5 player in the squad for the first half of the season, pitty he got injured.

Frankie improved and I admit I was wrong believing Casado should be ahead.

Casado will play ahead of Bernal as Casado is more mobile whereas Bernal looks like a positional DM as Busquets was. Unless Flick changes system.

With Bernal impressive size and the fact that our CBs play very high, I see no reason why not try to play Bernal as a center back (lefty too) to eventually replace an old Inigo. Also a good thing to allow Arujo to leave for money.

I dont think Casado will play more when both fit.

Casado is more mobile but he is also all about pressing and less positionally than likes of Bernal. Same as FDJ v Casado.. Frenkie holds structure more and tries to press in and win ball breaking down while Casado presses like a Kante type all in to win ball any time near him.

Team and Pedri look better with more discipline beside them for me but Casado too can develop.

Other side of it is Casados height that is another factor teams were playing off of a bit.

Casado done well from where came from but cant see him being long term at DM for Barca with his height and style of play.

They will not do that.

He is a midfielder and not a CB and wouldnt suit anyone to try and change it.
