17 - Marc Casadó

The question mark with Casado is that I suspect he's a player who needs consistent playing time to reach a high level. Which is not a role he's likely to get here.

But he definitely deserves a chance to prove himself in whatever role going forward. There will be rotations and injuries.

Miss youuuuu soooooo much mister.

Critical player in the current squad for a few reasons
Agreed.
It took me a few matches to warm up to him. Even after that I still thought FdJ was more important.
I now see FdJ is a blonde Sergi Roberto at the moment. I can see Flick calling on the medical team to see what they can do to fasttrack his return. Gives much versatility

Without even highlighting de Jong, because he is a settled debate at this point, he is the player he is, doesn't even make sense to waste too much time in that. 6.5-7.

But when we hit a similar poor run of form last year a few (mainly de Jong fans) tried to paint it on him.

In reality the team was just tired and we missed yamal to bail us out.

But before the injury when he played, you could see he's caught his 2nd wind, having him to rotate with de Jong and Pedri for the final run in would help us massively.

He could even give relief at RB against lower level teams since flick doesn't trust Fort.

In 6 of his previous league starts to injury he was taken off at HT twice and was poor away to Atletico in last game.

Was good beside FDJ v Valencia and decent away to Las Palmas while Sociedad was more or less a dead game early.

I am even less concerned about player comparison and not into any fanboyism. I leave all of that for the lowly esteemed and deluded ones

I however think there are types of matches he will clealy excel at. I do not also think Flick had a particular preference on who to partner Pedri. He used the other players based on match situations. Only a Pedri was constant in that midfiled set up.

Casado being available give us so many options that it isn't even fair.
Casado - FDJ
Casado - Pedri
Pedri - Fdj

All three lineup has their merits and advantages. And they play very differently than one another.
While Pedri-Fdj is the best, when both are firing on all cylinders.
We have such a luxury to field a player who brings and changes the dynamics of the MF when subbed on, it isnt even fair for the opposing team.

Exactly this.
