Great pass to Fermin for the 2nd goal and wonderful assist for Rapha's 4th. Coupled with frequent humiliations of a few Bayern players with his skills. We all expected it either way. Think he might have a fun night with Mendy covering him for Clasico.

I can't think of 1 area in his game where he definitely needs to improve very soon.

His dribbling, playmaking, passing and more importantly his decision making are all top-notch.

Maybe shooting and working on his right foot, but that's mainly it.

He's playing as if he's 27 and not 17. Absolute madness.

Ladder has been set insanely high for a kid his age so maybe I expected a bit more tonight.

If I really had to chose one fault, I didn't like how he failed to track back at times and let Davies past him..

If he's going to play most matches this season it's much smarter for his development to conserve energy rather than go headless chicken chihua style and tear his ACL.

He can improve a lot at scoring. He's far from his potential at that.

He's too skilled and intelligent to be making hail mary runs like donkey and rags to score goals. Proper DNA requires proper build up which Ohlno might be able to provide him.

He would have a lot more goals and assists right now if he played for City.

Some interesting takes by me and the other lads in the Redcafe thread "Lamine Yamal - Das Wunderkind".

@Maradona37 check it out.
So I read through this earlier - a lot of interesting stuff, good discussion points, and some hot takes I wasn't sure of too. But overall it was a good discussion that I liked reading.

I notice you said Yamal is not on Neymar's level technically. I am not convinced about that and I am one of Neymar's bigger fans (as a footballer). They're very different players so it's hard to assess. I also thought your comparison of Yamal in profile of player to Mahrez was a good one. Not in terms of level or potential you meant obviously, but the extremely tight first touch (especially from long diagonals), the in-swinging crosses with the left foot, the way he glides over the pitch and makes it looks so effortless. It was an interesting comparison I thought.

Glad you liked it man.

I think young Neymar had even more potential. He just had that naturally gifted magic and extra flair very few players have. It terms of talent and ability, I'd have Neymar over Yamal. From an eye test perspective, very few players can match up to Neymar.

Mahrez and Yamal do have a similar player profile/ playing style. Similar physique, agility, tricks, touch, etc.

Redcafe is at it's best in threads like these. Some really knowledgeable posters who aren't afraid of dropping hot takes every now and then.

Yeah you make fair enough points there. I am not FULLY convinced, but definitely what you say is very reasonable to say and makes sense.

Redcafe can be good when it's not about United or their rivals or anything like that, as it is brutally biased towards their own team. There are a lot of very bad posters too. But there are some very good ones too for sure. Gio, Invictus, Fortitude are always good on the history threads and tend to say stuff I have always agreed on. There are other more measured posters too, even when it comes to United.

The biggest issue with that site is that the top red posters dominate it - you know the type, the ones who try to shut down criticism of United at all costs and overrate everything United and play down and underestimate other teams because they are smaller clubs or don't spend as much. The entitled types. Saying there's too much 'negativity', maybe when you have been awful for a decade it's not negativity, it's realism. They are living in denial.

But in general when focusing on SOME non-United related topics there can be good discussion. That's not unique to Redcafe though as I have seen the same on others forums too. RAWK is pretty good for talk of past football too at times.

Anyway, won't take the topic further off-topic - if you wanna continue the debate about that site at some point, post reply in United topic.

Mendy is tough defensively. I want to see Euro Yamal out there tracking back to help Kounde with Vini.
