Why do we want him ?

He has to be as good as FDJ so that Valverde ( disgusting piece of shit ) has no option but to start him eitherwise he'll start Rakitic - Busquets combo again together with FDJ.

No point in wasting 40mil for a player only to put him on the bench. For that money or less , i'd get Eriksen.

Exactly. You either get rid of Valverde or you bring him experienced players. Stop bringing in talents who needs polishing and developing from the managerial staff, unless they are De Jong, Mbappe levels.

I think Mbappe after two months of this slow, static football without any space opening, he would be another clown with big ego, trips to France, meat eather...whatever:p

He is a versatile player can play CM and R/L wing. He will definitely play for one of the big teams next season.

Is he versatile or a tweener?
because we brought players like Arda/Coutinho/Denis among others thinking they are versatile and they turned out tweeners.

Potentially just next Denis, impossible to tell from a Croatian league standout, I don't think he has incredible balance, ball control, super clever... Seems like just a well-rounded player, but nothing really stands out.

So, he sounds like Alena.. why did we loan Alena then? Except If olmo is considered a big talent or something.

He is better than Denis, Alena, Puig.

I don't know whether he is good enough for Barca, but he is better than Denis.

Also, he improved a lot in the last 2-3 years.
Remains to be seen whether he has reached his ceiling or will he keep on improving.

Denis was always the worst player in our rooster...

People will get offended, but Alena and Puig are shit to meh.

Olmo 21 years:
28 youth NT matches
Won Euro U21 with Spain, scored 3 goals
Debuted for Spanish NT and scored a goal on debut

Alena 22 years:
34 youth NT matches
Wasn't called for Euro U21 in 2019

Puig 20 years:
Never called for any youth Nt team in his life

So, if you guys rate Alena and Puig, then Olmo is a level above them.
Whether he will be good enough for Barca is a different question.

In attack he is better than both Alena and Puig.
In defense he is better than both Alena and Puig.
And he has a better physique.

Also, he has played at La Masia from his age 9 to 16 and then left to Dinamo as part of Halilovic's transfer from Dinamo to Barca.

But if he is considered "just a well-rounded player, but nothing really stands out" as clemente said, it begs the question why would we buy him? We don't need squad players. We need starters. Alena was a decent squad player, so it makes little sense to swap him for a better, version who will still warm the bench 80% of the time. Except if the board consider him a future starter or see more potential in him.

If we get this guy for 30 or 40 million the whole board should get shot on the spot. Is he 40 million better than Alena? Is he a future starter? Is the difference in wages justifiable for a squad player? Not a chance so what's the fucking point. And then, to top it off, you need to bag in about 130m till June to break even so you go and pimp out talented prospects Todibo for a quick 20m profit so you can cover your damn idiotic spending over the years.

It's criminal what Bartomeu and co are doing and they are doing it for over 7 years with absolutely no concequences because we have the GOAT papering all over the cracks created by them.

Fuck Barto, fuck Abidal and fuck buying Olmo.

Fast forward to a summer of 2021:
Frenkie=here
Busi=gone
Raki=gone
Vidal=gone
Arthur=playing here and there

Basically, in 2 years, we will have one a half available midfielders.
Even if Alena will be a 5th choice, we will still need a choice no3 and no4.
Maybe even a choice no2 if Arthur will continue being injured and unavailable all the time.

Now, please don't reply: we could have Alena and Puig as choices no3 and no4.
That would be the worst midfield since 80s.

So, we will need 1-2 new midfield starters and 1-2 new squad players.
