While in theory this should be true, we have to keep in mind that literally every pre-season we look fresher, more active, more pressing, etc. It disappears quite quickly as the season starts. So yeah, while I do expect the work-rate to be better, I've stopped looking at these friendlies as a reference for...anything really.
