If this is about finances how the hell can they sign Ferran fucking Torres for 55+ mil? It's not about finances but horrible management.

Because they were desperate to get a goal scorer (so they thought). Selling FDJ makes no sense from a sporting perspective, so the only reason would be to sell him for money so it can be used on whatever (filling the budget hole to make Laporta look good or potentially spending on other transfers).

It was the shit they spoke about having no money then spending 55m that fucked the Dembele deal over as couldnt trust what was being told.

I don't think the club really believed in Traore as a true replacement of Dembele, just wanted to give him a try.
