MOTM for me. His intensity and control throughout full 90 minutes was incredible. Few mistakes in passing, but Dortmund's pressure was crazy.

No Pedri, No party!!

I have massive respect for his talent and have been one of his loudest advocates here but this match made it so obvious that FdJ cant do jack shit without Pedri. All the noise about control have been because Pedri was there.

Nah he played well and Pedri was as lost as anyone that last 15 mins.

Barca had no control that last 10/15 mins with Pedri in their either.

The control came when both were deeper then was lost as soon as FDJ went forward.

Only good pass forward all game and best chance created also.

I think it's a bad game if you're looking for the excuse to call it bad. Having positional nightmares Gavi/Fermin as your midfield partners doesn't help the deeper sitting midfielder who needs options. thought he did what he could today. Only thing I didn't like from him was getting caught out and giving away a counter attack in the first half, and one pass he miscontrolled that lead to a counter.

Fermin/Gavi being absolutely inept at controlling and "la pausa" is self evident to begin with, which is why it was expected for De Jong to fill those shoes, but he is nothing like that. Neither controller, neither final third merchant. Just good recycler of the ball, when everything ticks. At least his defensive work rate has been improved since Flick, but otherwise, he's a luxury player, who is never the midfield leader and catalyst as was expected in absence of Pedri. Looked demoralized and apathetic for most of the game. Hopefully Bernal recovers well and turns out good to be additional option in that double pivot setting to have more control in these kind of matches. Neither Gavi or Fermin will ever help with that. They're "runners".
