Gundo is right. Xavi has created a locker room culture of well-behaved choir boys who are just happy to be here, likely importing the culture from La Masia.

Plus Xavi is a master of excuses and enables his players to think they only lost because of an external reason.

Team needs to show more grit and internal motivation to dig deep down when things get tough.

Xavi doesn't come down on players like elite coaches do since everyone knows gimpball's the problem.

We'd probably be 6th or 7th in PL rn.

Gundogan just had the balls to say what we know.. the culture of the club is rotten.. complacency is normalized .. thank u mister gundogan
He should say it to his teammates in the locker room or even better on the pitch during the game. Saying it to the media is playing to the crowd.

Gundagon is 100% wrong to come out and say that

Watched the game again and the grass was clearly 0.05mm too long, effecting our play and slowing down our press.
don't forget we're not used to the stadium layout so the sun was in our eyes too

Players like Gundogan are winners. He's not used to being at a club where people excuse the losses. He will have been surprised at seeing that at a club of this size.
Yep, he also said there is not enough anger in the dressing room -> which is to be expected in a dressing room full of winners that don't accept defeat

Imagine Gundo's cultural shock going from Tuchel, Klopp and Pep to Xavi ....

Have a feeling there a many players not too fussed otherwise locker room would deal with it internally.

Guessing Gundogan was commenting on general reaction from the players and the coach so that's why he commented publicly.

Xavi is the one who allows that kind of loser mentality. If he didn't players wouldn't be reacting like it's not a big deal.

And it's an interesting question to ask who out of this squad has winner mentality?

Gundo, Araujo, maybe Gavi.
Who else? Probably no one

frenkie gets really frustrated when team is underpeforming. But don’t know if that reflects on winner mentality.

Its not a surprise we cannot do anything in cup competitions. We just get sore or bitter at any perceived injustice and give up when the tide rolls against us.
