With Kounde, you give him a job to defend against a big team, or perform against big teams, and he will show you why he's one of the best.
He has played every game if not rested or benched, since Oct 2023.
In a role that in this modern age is probably the most demanding on your body, constantly running, attacking or running back, defending, with no room to breathe. And bear in mind, in modern football, a higher percentage of attack happens from the wings.
With a team that has Balde as a LB, we need a player like him to balance our system. If you put in Trent or any offensive minded RB, and I can guarantee you our backline will fall apart, and there will be no hopes in playing an offensive high line.

We bought a CB to play RB.
Thank baby Jesus we did.
What a brilliant piece of business by the club, i still believe he would be just as good if not better if given time at CB, but I've given up on seeing that happen.
CB playing FB is en Vogue right now, and he's a fashion killa not just a trendy falla, so was always going to raise to the occasion like a star.

Due to brilliant signings like him, we could be winning our 2nd league title in 3 years, after going 4 without one. Massive change.
Close your eyes and imagine for a second us celebrating the sweet sweet nectar of finishing 4th, for all those years we went winless plus another 5-6.

We're extremly lucky to have such a physical beast who can play every third day without any fatigue symptoms on a position we don't have a backup. WIth him injured for a longer period, our 2025 run probably would have been impossible. After Pedri and Lamine, for me the most important player in our squad.
