There were rumors That Chelsea's old board was the one chasing him hard a year ago and Tuchel was ok with the signing but obviously, it failed then as Sevilla wasn't budging on their price.
Come this summer Kounde was probably expecting another hard push by Chelsea's board to get him but it turns out he was like what iniestaGoat said far down the pecking order of options, that they only came back for him when things got desperate. We pushed hard for him as he was our first choice option while Tuchel and Chelsea were dicking around and lost out on other targets.
Funny though he would have been a big upgrade on the Chelsea back line. He's having a far better season than all of Chelsea's Current CBs so far and would have also slid in well in that RCB spot as Azpilicueta is finished beyond belief.
