For some reason the gab and Jules podcast came on, while driving home today and they brought up Alfonso Davis renewal with Bayern.
Which is
15m + 4m in signing on bonus, which comes from a 20M bonus that is being prorated over the life time of the 5 year contract.
19m all in, excluding other bonuses.
It highlights two things for me.
1) all this talk of kounde being on 10-12m, you have to pay what the market demands and now his 12m with 2 years left in his contract, looks like good business.
2) it resets the market for top FB, like TAA, kounde and a few others, I'm thinking that's the kind of money trent will demand from Madrid or Liverpool.
If we can get our entire back line to be on around that 10-12m mark, which I think is reasonable, that's pretty good business.
balde will obviously be on less, but I'm talking medium to long term, the max we should ever be looking to give to a defender should be 10-12m.
