24 - Eric García

Well, why would we bring Aleix with current midfield? He isn't CDM, he isn't an AM (a guy who can score/assist) and we have Gavi/Pedri/Frenkie/Gundogan for the two interiors we play.
I would welcome such deals if we are selling Frenkie or Pedri and bringing A.Garcia as replacement.

Yeah, I was thinking to bring him if we sell Frenkie.

But even if FDJ stays I still think getting Aleix makes sense if we can include some fringe players to lower the price. Ofc Girona is in a better situation than us after qualifying to CL so they will only sell under their conditions. And if Xabi is really interested then they might take 20-25m from them (AFAIK his clause is somewhere in that range) rather than negotiate with us.

On paper we have good depth at CM but in reality not so much. Gavi should be brought back slowly after a long term injury. I'm one of the biggest Pedri fans but he is injury prone until proven otherwise. Gundo is very good but getting old. And Frenkie might leave, if not this summer then maybe next one or possible on a free in 2026. Club shouldn't let this happen but if we won't make a decision on him now then that will become a real possibility.

Garcia is proof that a mediocre player can look good in the right set up under the right manager.
Klopp did that at Liverpool too.

I think that there is no denying, Laporta, board and Xavi are idiots.

Bringing back Xavi first, and then Xavi wanting biggest idiot since Lenglet in defense is just Barca things.

Normal petson who watched football can't understand this transfer targets.

This club is managed so bad, that it can't rationally be explained.

I already see us spending money from Araujo's transfer to clowns like Olmo and 2 both Garcia's from Girona.

I understand the point where you gradually get rid of the worst players and reinforce with slightly better ones until time is right to spend big on some superstar name. But what we here do is getting rid of the dead weight and reinforce the team with players for 50,60 m that absolutely sucks and we are stuck in the loop.

Spoiled kids really, we’re fortunate to have a passionate leader of this club as President who understands the club ethos

Yea, the Laporta, Deco and Xavi trio are doing a great job. Best football I've seen us play in years.

Oh wait.
You get lemons, you make lemonade. You’re upset with current progress, blame Bartomeu & Rosell

Oh I see the big picture. They have a major part of the blame but how does that have anything to do with mismanaging our squad, money and new transfers since? You're telling me we can't play attractive football with what we have? They had around 250mil at their disposal.

Teams play more attractive football with fraction of what we have. That is a fact. Many sides to the problem, but you can't excuse one and not the other.

He is a good ballplaying defender for a midrange team. And Girona are excelling because they are attacking vertical with individual talent on the wings and clinical finishing upfront- and not because of their defence. Their defence is the worst in the top 6 infact.

There is a reason that their centrebacks (Eric and Blind) were exposed defensively at bigger clubs but work well while in possession at Girona.

In the end, I think (or hope) Xavi knows that Eric Garcia is not reliable to start in the Barcelona defence and all this talk is just to drive a higher sales price from Girona or any Spanish managed EPL side which may decide to take a punt.

And if Araujo is indeed sold without CB transfer investment, then Faye or Chadi are much more important profiles than a dime a dozen passing CB on the same cap space as Araujo.
