Sums up Vermaelen, and the irony is AS wrote and article how Valverde went from wanting to sell him and maybe giving him a second chance today.
He cannot stay fit for a long period of time. He can get a run of 3 games maybe even 5 if you're really lucky and he will convince people "he could really make a decent rotational option" and then he gets injured. Rinse and repeat.
It's like that run of games he got at the very start of the 2015/16 season and he even won us the game vs Malaga with his goal. He got injured vs Atletico and was out for a period of time and came back and looked okay but again got injured, and for the rest of the season when he got the chance he looked rusty and shaky never to regain the form he got earlier in that season.
At Roma it was the same except in that case his dreadful form after he came back from Injury continued and again suffered several injuries and Roma didn't buy him. One has to wonder how his career would have turned out if he wasn't made out of Glass. He shown some signs when he was much younger and here and there for us he could be a good solid CB if he wasn't so injury prone.

why is he still playing? He should opt for an office job or maybe become a trainer for youngsters or something.

I hope he dosen't play in those two years. Can't belive i still remember admiring him in Arsenal and looking at him as one of the best defenders in the world.

Worst transfer in Barca history, at least Douglas was able to help the team by training with them.
What's sad is we are paying 4 millions/year(7 + taxes and 20 millions transfer fees) someone who is basically doing nothing for the club.
People involved in the Vermaelen deal should be sentenced to prison.
It seems that there is no yearly performance evaluation for the board.
