I don't know. I saw him play with Barca B and some preseason games and he didn't show this sort of level. He improved a lot in just one or two seasons. He is absolutely monster today. His speed, quickness and dribbling is on very high level

He has a game that is more suitable for pro level than B. Had long injury setbacks too, but otherwise should probably have been given opportunities sooner.
Back to the B, for example Alex Valle is a tidy nice player who was better than Balde when both played at B. But his ceiling is lower and just doesn't have the strength or pace to reach the top. Things that in the lower quality are less showing as you don't face top wingers with individual ability and pace.
Not to discredit Balde, he has put in the work offensively and has found productivity. Previously he would always look to cut back. But again, we are trying to play to his strengths and use his pace for breaks now.

Well, Xavi and Barca was ready to loan him out in the summer. Luckily it didn't happen.
Gavi, Pedri and Balde probably all benefitted Barca being low level compared to previous years.. they got a chance and made it. It has made prospects easier to crack the roster, when the quality has lowered a bit.
But I love it. I don't love this Barca DNA crap(they need to be certain way) but seeing your own prospects make it is so lovely. It's the best feeling when your organisation can product great players. Not just buying.

The thing about Balde which made me believe in him & as I've said before, is his physical profile is literally perfect for the modern FB, at some point The juniors was just kinda him turning his wheels.
For me it was always a matter of when not if, he'll make it, we just had to trust the process & know he will make mistakes as he develops, but I was never impressed with any Barcelona FB as much as him, he was clearly made for the modern game.

True true and that's the usual downfall of a Barca prospect. Lacks physical qualities, but they have the skill or passing ability, which becomes irrelevant at the top level when opponents run past you.

Completely agree. Even Barca are finally accepting that physical profile with pace, strength and agility are absolutely needed to compete at the top level these days.

He needs to improve a lot on the ball.
Doesnt threaten enough with quality in final third at moment and makes some strange decisions.

Still only 19.. work in progress. Alba is too old so we are relying on him and his athleticism a lot, normally we shouldn't be in this position. He is inconsistent due to age and had better end product at the beginning of the season, was also shaky today but I have full confidence in his talent
He's very rash and instinctive in his decision making, especially in the final third. Most of the time it ends with a bad shot or a bad shot, in a way where he just kicks the ball and hopes for the best. He has a long to the level of those Alba cutbacks to Messi.
