Calling it now. The main dynamic of the left side this year will be Balde bombing up and down the left side with Gavi covering at false LW

Him coming back is going to be a massive boost to the team defensively. Seems to be tucking in to make a 3rd left sided centre back when ball is on the other side.

Was much better going forward as well with his low driven crosses and through balls. Could be a breakout year where he fulfills his potential and becomes one of the best left backs in the world.

Giving up a hell of a lot going forward if put Gavi back to that position.

He is miles off what others will produce in there.

It will be forcing Gavi in if he does that.

Surely Gavi is an option deeper to try and learn to play back there as he is not techincally good enough to be an AM for a top side currently.

I agree offensively we lose a lot but Hansi is going to want pressing up top I imagine. It all depends on who we bring on this window as well

He could be a revelation at #10, despite what Jammy says, he's technically excellent and has the best turn under pressure of our players.

No, he's not and he has absolutly no asists and goals in his game. His only chance is at double pivot and even there he has a lot of question marks around him. We would all like to have him in the team when we don't have the ball and off the pitch when we have it.

This is why I seriously think he will get plugged into the vacant LW at first. Just use him as a hound all game

No he is not 'techincally excellent'.. he struggles to progress the ball and create much in final third...

'Techincally' he was behind even Fermin/Felix etc in what can produce in final third.

Just another cliche that is not backed up by what he shows on the park.

Xavi put him there to press more or less.

'Techincally' Gavi is levels below FDJ, Gundo and Pedri and was not better morre effective on ball than Felix, Fermin, Ferran, Raphinha, Fati.. any of those players that played AML in past couple seasons.

What he did better was press without any realy important on structure as four man midfield and it was effective enough.

Olmo or Nico will come.. if they choose Gavi at AML ahead of either of those for example it would be moronic.

Gavi was asked to play a specific role between the lines, opposed to Frenkie for example, who never left his feel good positions. People can't seem to appreciate that and look at stats. Xavi knew better.
