Balde was good when he came on IMO.

I think he has handled himself well so far in the season. His speed is a big plus but he has been defensively responsible. Only 18 yrs old so hope he bulks up because some players try to use their bodies against him to get past him or create some extra maneuvering space.

Offensively, he hasn't provided as much, but the frontline(barring Lewandowski mostly) has also been useless and ineffective.

He was fine. The least of our problems on the defensive line (with Kounde) and can solve alot of problems with pure pace.

Offensively lacks alot and I wish he forced himself to improve this side against lesser sides. Maybe something simple like take on the RB with conviction make a cross into the box 5-10 times per game.

Because otherwise we're going to struggle all season with no pace on either fullback and no overlap for the widemen.

As for his level, our best fullback right now and should play every game now we're out of the CL. He's probably midtable LaLiga level at the moment though. We really screwed up here over the years.

And to think Xavi only wanted passive holding passes at these positions like Alonso and Azpi.

Yeah agree. I rather play Balde and hope he improves rather than play proven disasters (Alba and Alonso).

Let the kid grow and hope he pans out. He could become a good one.

Much more upside to play him ahead of Alonso and Alba. Compared to the other ones he hasn't really had an embarrassing game so far this season. Keep playing him, he's slowly improving and that's what important.

The only LB we have. The other 2 bozos are worthless. Which brings to mind this new Fetish of the club : quantity over quality. Shit tones of players and most are worthless.

I liked the moment we brought Alba on to act as a more offensive leftback and we completely lost any defensive coverage on the left. Alba gives zero F's about getting back anymore. What a difference a year makes.

I like him a lot, but we should still look for a starting LB and RB that can be elite for us soon. Balde would be a great backup for now until he develops more physically and tactically.

Alba need to go and Alonso is a waste of space.
