Given that goal's were the only factor that earned penaldo a spot last season , Suarez scored against Allopponents in UCL this season including Atletico twice .He didn't had a terrible Ucl . Plus he won Spanish Double , which Madrid hasn't managed to do ever since the birth Of Messi .

cr made the top three by doing way less than Suarez. He's there because of his reputation, because he didn't have a better season than Suarez. None of those 3 did. And Suarez doesn't play the euros. That should not be a handicap for him. He deserved to be there.

Wouldn't say that Cristiano is only in the shortlist just because of reputation, especially with his 53 goals in 54 games or 0,98 goal per game.

And of course, he played a part of when Real Madrid & Portugal won Champions League and Euro 16 respectively.

Suárez should've definitely been in the shortlist and no one has better stats than Uruguayan himself.
