The fact that our whole fan base could see, from the very get go, that this man was way out of his depth, and our coach couldn't, is a extremely worrying sign going forward.

He was not supposed to play in matches like Celta away.
Someone made a decision to let Valle go and picked Martin. Someone also made a decision to play him instead of Fort, who actually looked good as lb last season.

This too tbf. He was actually put in a positon to fail by our brilliant coach.

But yeah, it was Flick's decision to keep him instead of Valle. We could have kept Faye and play him as LB (and have better cover at CB too). Or even Mexican Araujo who is not that great defensively but is fast so would fit this suicidal system and be a good backup for Kounde and allow Fort to play on the left. Did we really have to sell them both to buy Olmo?

I dont understand.

It would maybe make the slightest sense if Fort played too much and he needed a rest, but Fort is definitely well rested considering his play time this season. He is ready to play and he played literally flawless in all minutes he got this season.

There is absolutely no way Flick actually believes Martin is the better player. I know about the claims that Flick has shit eye for talent, but it cant be this bad. Martin is a player with no qualities for this level of football, its obvious with every move he makes.

Fort wasn't good this year, though he is far better than Martin.

I think Flick doesn't rate Fort at all tbh. He plays Martin because he feels Fort is even worse.

We shit on him constantly, so have to say solid game tonight, even got an assist.

Flick is even more convinced now.

Will get cooked against any decent winger. Mark my words. He is just too slow for a fullback.

He is good if there is no pressure from the opponent down the wings. Balde resurrected the play on our left side when he entered the game.

Was pretty good. Balde could learn a thing from how Martin plays these cut-in passes as for the assist.

Not good enought long term but I like his attitude. Appears aggressive in attack and doesn't seem to bothered by making a mistake.

Not as quick as you'd like for a full back but held his own today.

His best game for us. His passing in opponent's penalty area is good. Hopefully he will build up onn that, for our own sake.
