Wasn't great, but played well, given early on Dortmund attacked his area as supposedly the weakest link. He's not any good in wing-back, but rather the classic LB.

Could also argue Dortmund is probably one of the toughest opponents for fullbacks considering their pace.

Could make a claim it would be easier on him against Inter, for example.

Think he didn't do as badly. Can't blame him when Kounde and Araujo were twice as worse.

Him and Cubarsi did somewhat decent, with fewer glaring errors.

No argument there, Dortmund gave us game that they didn't against Real Madrid in the final last year.

But his lack of offensive mentality doesn't just influence his game, it makes it harder for Raphinha or whoever is on the LW.

He is a time bomb both in defense and possession . He is not lacking in attitude or work .. he just seems to be lacking inherent quality. Heavyweight Opponents will easily channel their timed pressing on him u can count on that.

Point is the players that need to get on the ball when Martin is in possession need to be far better than they were today.

Of course he is not gonna be as inventive as Balde.
