But Olise is a different beast if we are being honest.
This match up alone makes me prefer Inter over Bayern
Also, Dumfries himself is dealing with his own Hamstring injury and might miss the first game too.

Barca's Cruyffismo rotating diamond might save him. I saw it a few times tonight with Frenkie/Gavi/Pedri retreating to his position when Gerard advanced forward. It's a beautiful system from a brilliant mind. Sometimes though it backfires from bad passing.
Kounde on the right executes it much better, but he has a great ball controller in Lamine.

With Martin playing I would rather face Inter. German teams play upfront a lot.. with Inter at least Martin will be less pressured on the ball.

He was bad and predictable but not as bad as some here want to make it appear like, especially when the entire team was shit and those bestowed with the gamut of leadership were either too nervous to lead or being shafted in their own positions too.
Martin,Araujo,Lopez and tosome extent, Gavi, were the weak links in the team. How it took Kovac an entire half and 15 minutes to figure out that Martin was the weakest link in Barca's armour is still a question he must answer if I were part of the leadership at Dortmund. It was pretty obvious Martin was a hole in the defence right from the start and any good coach should have picked that up before the match if he reviewed Barca's last macth vs Leganes. I am pretty sure his answer would circle around the fact that they overestimated Barca until they found out they were ordinary pussies as the match wore on.
That said, the situation is still not all that hopeless especially re: Martin, considering he will have to play next few matches in place of Balde unless Flick finds an ingenious solution or Balde miraculously recovers ahead of time. It is obvious he lacks the technicals to play like Balde or anything close to it but he makes up for it with a stronger physicality and aerial presence. It is left for Flick to do a SWOT and adjust the team's arrangement on the left side to make use of his strengths more and cover his weaknesses. I am not going to bother my head about how Flick figures that out, he is the one earning the millions, not me.

With better passers of ball from defence it will help not having to rely on him or make it as easy for opposition to leave him open and close others.
Having Araujo and Gerard level passers of ball was too much at times today and Dortmund played on it from minute 1.
If he sticks with Gerard then possibly Raphinha takes more width on left..but that then leavs Lewa more isolated.. I think at times today we saw that with Raphinha holding left more as an outlet for Gerard and it never really went anywhere. Left Lewa looking isolated too often and he doesnt have the pace to be a threat liek that.
To support Lewa it looked like Fermin was posted higher up at times but all that did was reduce the passing options out and isolate FDJ/Gavi in midfield where outnumbered and pressed hard by Dortmund team taking big risks at back.
FDJ can move to left a bit more to give Gerard more passing options out from back and Inigo at LCB can do the same and help talk him through games.
Other option is Kounde has to play a bit higher up and Gerard is the one that tucks in on left and Yamal comes narrower to support Lewa and leave the AM with bit more freedom to connect with the deeper midfielders and provide more options for defence passing ball out.
Sure as fuck cant be playing like today again.
