4 - Ronald Araújo

Araujo is better in games where we want to defend with a lower line, but we've already seen (as has Flick) that the high line stuff is not his game despite how fast and strong he is.

Its far more about game intelligence.

Him staying will be dependent on what kind of deal we could get for him. Even though he's under contract until 2031 if we continue to have FFP issues management will start looking at him amongst FDJ, Gavi etc.

Ideally we would be looking to sign a top CB with ball playing ability and athleticism to pair Cubarsi but probably be low amongst list of other priorities. Replacing Lewa will be expensive and resource consuming, there are not that many elite strikers full stop let alone ones who are available.

Hi haters

But truthfully it was a pretty easy game for the defense.

Pedri, yamal, raph and to a lesser extent but still very good, balde

Gave everyone else a day off today, if we only played with those 4 we would have won today.

Calma.

FDJ was easily one of the best players on park and much better than Araujo.

Inigo was much better than him also.

What's your point exactly?

Where did i say where he ranked in the game.

Did you not see the easy game for the defense.

We had 4 outfielder players better than your boy ans 5 that weren't as good.

Middle of the pack like always 😂.

His passing was good today, no mistakes with the offside trap also. Hope it is a sign that he is becoming used to Flicks football.

Decent game but was terrible for their goal. Got completely lost in the box and did nothing as his man scored.
Could see Benfica funnelling ball to him but Barca refused it often and Inigo, FDJ and Balde took it on from other side.
Pedri seemed to drop to left once FDJ off and take up that role a few times more so than Casado.
Decent variation by Flick to let Casado go and run and Pedri sit deeper and help defence play out even more.

IMO he was at fault for that goal.
did play well afterward.
I think he needs Inigo at his side, like Pique needed Puyol to keep him in line.

Funny how Flick had organize playing out of defense entirely through the left flank, overloading it with entire team just to avoid giving ball to Rujo. Good for Benfica, but will be huge drawback against stronger sides.

It's because Pedri was playing a bit on the left as he usually does.

I think flick is getting the best out of him slowly against benfica he was great. I think he brings the best out of both cubarsi and inigo. Both are not very physical and fast and pair well with him better than with each other.

the 25-year-old also looked comfortable with the ball at his feet and completed the game with a passing accuracy of 93%, four clearances and five tackles.
