Never a red, not even really a foul but what is astounding is that there was never even VAR to review it when cases like this should absolutely fall under actual video evidence to ensure a team has not been disproportionately harmed. Of course, this is Lahoz & his henchmen so undoubtedly they would've still confirmed the red
It's a mockery overall that Lahoz is allowed to referee at any level really
I doubt. Araujo was the last man preventing a goal-scoring opportunity and it was a contact. It's harsh and I feel for the kid but Lahoz can easily justify his decision.
That was a good red, a professional red. Aroujo may well have stopped a goal, so he made a good decision to commit the red before Chicharito got into the penalty area. Of course, Aroujo being banned for a while now is completely inconsequential.
If Miguel Rico says it's true, Valverde apparently rates Araujo above Todibo.
Both are similar players, but Araujo seems more aggressive but not quite as good on the ball as Todibo is. But Araujo is a player that may fit what we need from a CB, someone that is fast and physical that can make up for the shortcomings of the likes of Lenglet and Pique.
EV has a strange way of showing he rates players. I don't know anything about Araujo though. He could be great or a flop. We will never know with EV. If that's the way he treats his "rated" players, one can imagine the treatment other guys get from him.
The difference between the two is that Roland Araujo has a lot of game time to develop with. Tobido has a lot of defensive aspects to develop that can only be worked on in-game and not in training sessions. If he isn't going to play then he either needs a loan or to go to the B team and partner with Araujo as they are complimentary- or be groomed as a future Barcelona DMC with gametime.
