Puyol was great technically, was once voted tge best RB in the world due to his technical abilities.
Icam not sure where this myth about him came from

Whoever voted Puyol best RB in world must have been high on drugs but if they did it was not due to his technical side of game wouldnt think.

Exactly.

Players like Puyol, Van Dijk, these aren't examples of non technical CBs. These are all-around world-class leaders and defenders.

Yerry Mina is an example of a gifted athletic player with limitations on the ball. Araujo is similar to Mina. Mina was a beast in the air offensively too so even there they seem similar.

Hubris to compare Araujo to Mina.
Mina is only about aerial ability, ARaujo is that PLUS tons of other things

The guy never got dribbled once in so many minutes...
He is fast as fuck for his size. Look at him when he sprints

That soft-CB/good passer agenda has to end.
This team needs real defenders for once

Which doesn't mean Araujo is the solution.

Anyway, Garcia - the soft-CB/good passer - has been vastly superior to Araujo so far. I really hope they can form a good partnership though, we need it.

Araujo still is useful and probably most physically impressive player ever seen at Barca but needs to improve positionally and his passing or wont last. The club will look for better.

For what he brings he will get a lot of chances and need to get better.

Can tell he used to be a striker and hasnt been a CB all his life.

Garcia has been on form. Good passing and good forward forays with the ball.
BUT Doesn't mean he is better in all the duties you need Araujo doing.
Gets bullied so easily on ground and air.

Them partnering atm is the best you have at Barca.

Araujo not the one to be replaced.
You can't find on the market his package of defense and athleticism
On the contrary, you have so many little soft passers like Garcia

Abde is just Barca B back up winger who is 2 years away from being ready to 1st team football.

He is not a Barcelona B backup, otherwise the guy who is starting infront of him would have been called up by Sergi.

What was happening though is that Sergi had been intergrating him slowely because he has a high individual game but lacks physically coming from the lower leagues.

Not nitpicking, but felt there needs to be a distinction of what EZ is. It's not an Oscar Lopez/Damia type thing.

Can we scratch Garcia being soft? It's untrue, he's tenacious. Bartra was soft.

And we can talk about hypotheticals all day, but so far Garcia has been simply better this season.

Don't see it. He's mostly about strength, not much else. Besides, seems to be made of glass, injured every other month.

Replace soft with weak, actually like how tenacious he is, although he does over do it at times.

His biggest issue has been his injuries. Coming back from one and joining a game like the one against Celta as a defender was a difficult task, especially partnering Lenglet who is lacking game rhythm himself and who never will be a leader. Araujo is 22 with plenty of room for improvement, but with qualities that make it worth to give him time to develop and make mistakes to learn from.

I think i read a tweet which said xavi likes him. He is going to get time to develop and prove himself. Lets see what hes got.
