Obviously one mistake shouldn't have any impact on whether he should be sold or not. But if he won't learn from his mistakes, then it's sort of an issue.

Xavi isn't helping either by authorizing this delusion that Araujo was not at fault. Manager needs to help players learn from mistakes. That hasn't exactly been Xavi's defining characteristic.

Depends on the sum really. He is not worth 80m, and the root cause that led to his error is his bad technique and his low football IQ, that is not something that can he easily fixed. He is all muscle, not much else in him so far.

Regardless, if he stays and does something even close to this again, it becomes obvious we're dealing with a bum.

It’s because of the one good pass that did happen to lead to the goal, quite frankly.

But yeah, overall his passing was poor keen on taking risks instead of keeping simple

I think we're making way too much out of a player underperforming for 33 minutes. He had a great game 6 days earlier.

But do you remember those games like the Bayern 8-2 and the Liverpool 4-0 where we were absolutely suffocated and could not get out of our defence. Not Lenglet, not Pique and neither Rakitic or any mid that came deep?

We had none of that on Tuesday. A high block by PSG but not a fast press nor closing down. So yes Araujo distribution was poor all night, but nobody worked to give passing options all night despite the opportunities to do so.

By minute 20 when you see Araujo struggling someone else has to be either supporting or taking over.

But we just maintained positions, speed and staticness. Because Xavi had his half time check point and nothing was going to pivot from that, even if necessary.

Gotta stop over reacting and over analyzing a mistake.

1) he pulled the first pass off that led to the goal
2. It made him over confident, in his IMPROVING, but still not cubarsi level passing.
3. Our DM who is suppose to show for the ball and be press resist, wasn't doing his job.
4. And most importantly he fucked up because that pass was never on, he should have just gone back to MATs.

The plan was clearly to weather the storm by any means necessary, eventually they would tire and the game would even out.

Not a lot to do with Xavi's tactics,the game plan was more or less working, he would have adjusted at half time I'm sure, and dude just fucked up.
